There is notable peace and harmony in Imo State.Ohakim in his characteristic approach to handling the affairs of the state may have proved wrong, holders of the believe that because of the Governor’s minority party(PPA),there might be heavy unrest in the state. Imo under the Leadership of Ohakim is enjoying the best of oneness and unity which are vital ingredients needed for development. The bond of friendship between the Governor and Imo state House of Assembly and the Judiciary is a thing to be applauded.

The Governor has also revealed in several interviews that what has helped most in entrenching peace in Imo State has been the positive employment of Imo youths in different strata of the economy.Imo job center,Ohakim’s creation has employed over 1000 jobless youths of the state.
The direct result of peace in Imo has quickened the economic growth of the state.Major construction companies are today puttinf finishing touches to road construction in Imo.There is dualization of owerri -orlu road, okwelle Ezike-umuduru road,Amuro-Aro ofeimo road,Dikenafia-Isiekeneze-umuagwo road,Obioha -ogboko-omuma-Isiaku-Nkwerre road,obioha-AforUrualla-Obodoukwu_afor isiokpo road,Nkume-Amucha -Ezi obaire road,Afor -Umuaka-Amazano-Nkpulu Road,Shoe Industry-Amulu Mbieri road.Dualization of Okigwe road,Amaraku roundabout,Ikpambara-Umuehie-umuneke road,Anara roundabout,Anara-Eziama abba road,Naze-Nekede-Obinze road,Enyiogugu-lagwa-mbutu-uvuru road,umunama-Akpodimowutu-Ife road,Owerri-Umuahia road, etc. These Road Contracts are awarded to reputable construction companies as a way of promoting thorough and clean job.

THE HENRY WILLINK’S REPORT OF 1958,SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED TO THE LETTER, NIGERIA GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP THIS BOGUS RECONCILIATARY ‘NONSENSE’
THE GOVERNOR SHOULD BE MINDFUL OF CORPORATE LOBBYSTS WHO MIGHT WANT TO DISTRACT HIM FROM HIS VISION FOR THE STATE. LET THIS TEMPO BE SUSTAINED AND LET OTHER STATES BORROW A LEAF FROM HIM.
NIGERIANS ARE SMOTHERING IN A TIGHT CAGE OF POVERTY IN THE MIDST OF AFFLUENT SOCIETY. OUR AFFLUENCE CAN HELP US ACHIEVE THIS FEAT OF OHAKIM.

LETTER TO A NIGERIAN MILITANT
My Dear Militant, the major security problem that is shaking Nigerian Nation today,is the series of Nigerians and foreign oil workers that you kidnap daily as well as the series of attacks on oil facilities by you, Militant of the Niger Delta.
I guess that you must be feeling quite happy these days with so many people all over the world trying to find out why you took to Arms struggle. The World is asking why you chose to be Militant. Is it poor family background, is it economic hardship or political motivation or you just want to be called ‘Hardman’.
Some say you are fighting for a greater share of our region’s oil wealth which may have largely bypass you and ended up in the pockets of Corrupt Politicians. However, we can see that what may have been a political motivated protest has degenerated into extortion and crime.
You wield automatic riffles, overrun Navy, kill Police and Army, and hold Nigerians and foreigners’ hostage. Of course, there ought to be reasons for anything, but I feel so sorry for you because I know that one day you will be caught.
Do you think that you are great because you are able to take away life which you can never create? Sniffing- off promising lives, engaging yourself in dubious activities, bending the law to suit your appetite, kidnapping people, bombing and looting.
And you feel good to exist on that dark plane? You feel good to be called a criminal. I pity you so much because I know for sure that it would have been better if you were not born because someday, your burden of crime will so weigh you down that you will seek death and not find it.
It is true that Oil Companies have ravage the Niger Delta extracting oils for the global north while leaving a legacy of pollution, dispossession of land .Many Oil Companies have become very rich as a result of there exploitation of oil in Nigeria and yet the Nigerian people remain poverty stricken, ill and abused as a result of the oil activities. The introduction of Democracy in Nigeria has so far not brought an end to the abuse of the Nigerian people or their land by Oil Companies.
But you know you will achieve little if you chose to fight for your right through violence. The pen is mightier than the sword, you seems to forget. The world have been calling on you to lay down your guns and embrace dialogue as a means of solving the Niger Delta issue.
Why don’t you want to lay down your guns and dialogue with the Government of Nigeria? What is making you not to renounce crime? You are not the only person from a broken home, you are not the only person who is bored from too much wealth, you are not the only person living in the Niger Delta under hard condition and you are not the only person with a destructive tendency. Heaven knows ,I can pull a trigger too .But I, like so many persons out there have refused to bend to that kind of life of destruction.
Don’t you want to be like the Mike Okiro’s, the Tele Ikuru’s, the Donald Duke’s,the Ikedi Ohakim’s, the Goodluck Jonathan’s and the Alabo Graham Douglas? Go back to School, take Education serious. Shun violence, shun crime. I don’t need to be a seer to know that you are damaging your life. Your life can be sniffed out at any time. You operate on that frequency, ‘Ogbu Mma ga ala na Mma’ This is a divine law. O yes, he who kills by the sword will die by the sword. And your dreams in life will automatically end.
Don’t kid yourself, divine law does not indulge in excuses. ‘I be small Pickin no dey for this one’. Small Pickin, yet you pull triggers at people, throw bombs at houses and properties. Small Pickin, yet you kill, kidnap, rape, steal and loot.
Why don’t you think? Make a U-turn now before it will be too late. Crime no dey pay.
Embrace peace, embrace dialogue. Join hands to make Nigeria a better place.

The you, you don’t know
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other
people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Failure As Feedback
Change, we have often been told, is inevitable and it is the only constant thing in life. But what keeps agitating the mind is if change is constant, why are some people so morbidly afraid of it? It may be pretty difficult to proffer a solution to that puzzle but it is sound reasoning to suppose that people are afraid of change or threatened by it because they do not want to lose their position, wealth, influence in particular places and time. Change must come, however we try to avoid it.
But has Change anything to do with failure or success in life? The answer is two-pronged. Yes, because change has resulted in the failure of some while it brings fortune to others. Whichever place you find yourself, take heart, especially now that we have a better understanding that what ordinarily we refer to as failure should not, strictly speaking, be termed as such. If you think otherwise, then pause and consider the following :
A map is not the territory; it is a mere representation of the experience of the drawer.
Every experience has a structure.
If one person can do something, anyone can learn to do it.
The meaning of your communication is the response you get.
The mind and the body are parts of the same body.
Underlying every behavior is a positive intention.
If what you are doing is not working, do something else; anything else.
Now have you ever tried your hands on something and failed? Have people ever associated you with one form of failure or the other? Have you been despised, derided or even punished for failing at a task? Were there times you gave up on a project because you think you were not getting the desired results? If your answer to these questions is no, chances are you have never really tried your hands on any worthwhile venture.
Think: Abraham Lincoln failed severally in business, politics, love and suffered health challenges, but yet became one of the greatest presidents America ever had. Ludwig Beethoven handled the violin awkwardly and his teacher called him hopeless as a composer, yet his contributions to music was so palpable that he is today called the father of jazz. Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor for lack of ideas, yet became world’s greatest filmmaker and America’s best known figure in the television, film and amusement industries. Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was too stupid to learn anything, yet he patented over 1, 000 inventions including the electric light bulb. When the Wright brothers mooted the idea of inventing an airplane, Professor Newcomb dismissed the idea as mathematically and mechanically impossible; it was a failure even at inception. But two months later the first airplane flew.
Quoting Mohammed Ibrahim of Human Resources, a facilitator at the recently concluded Advanced Officers’ Development Programme, there are no failures, only feedbacks. What proved the turning point for these individuals? In trying the same thing over and over again, they achieved the same results. But in changing their thinking and methods, what they had tried so hard to fix without success worked out and the feedback resulted in huge success.
So, if you find yourself in the same dilemma, change your way of doing that task again and you’d be amazed at the result you’ll get. Change your mindset and get a positive feedback! Being the best is not by happenstance; it the result of trying again and again until success is achieved. Are you going to embark on that project applying the same old methods? Dare to be different and the feedback will amaze you!
Hitherto, you haven’t failed but have only received negative feedback on your efforts, but will you be passionate about your work and shake things around a bit? The results might prove very rewarding.
