The National Assembly is trying to swim in troubled waters as we hear. I hope we are all vigilant and will not allow these crop of (dis) honourable members to scuttle their so called nascent democracy.
Should they make do their threat of passing a ‘vote of no confidence’ on Prof. Iwu; it will lead to his removal as the INEC Chief. This act of legislative rascality needs check-mating; especially when the time left for the up-coming elcetion is too short. Read more

It was yet another bold move by the re-designated Minister of State for Transport, Femi Fani-Kayode when he “demanded a review of fares charged by international airlines operating in the country, as part of measures to make international travel by air affordable for Nigerians”
The Minister of State, as reported by the Daily Independent made it clear to the operators that time has past when they had field days treating Nigerian travellers as scums that needed immediate disposal. He also noted that racist comments and attitudes in all its ramifications will no longer be tolerated by the government.
It will be recalled that in recent past the British Airways treated with scorn the missing baggage saga involving Nigerian travellers over the yeltude; and the BA Country Manager in Nigeria did not help matters when he explained that “only 100 baggages were declared missing” to this the Minister replied “If you think that 100 missing bags is okay, well, that’s not okay by me. To me, even one missing bag of a Nigerian is bad enough” Read more

While waiting for the the Senate and House of Rep. members to formally receive the report; there are uproars already about the figures. Also, more questions than answers are been asked.
Question?
Are we really 140M Nigerians?
Is Kano more populated than Lagos?
Are there more men than women in Nigeria? Read more

Good people it is another year, indeed 2007is here.
I happen to be one of the millions of people out there that wanted the year to whiz pass. There were ups and downs in every aspect of our lives as individuals, groups and nations.
In Nigeria, a lot did happen that we as a people will not want to remember but cannot afford to forget in a haste.
From the plane crashes, to the kidnappings, armed robberies and all forms of avoidable deaths; not forgetting the political parties with their not too transparent primaries. Read more
